ABOUT
The Dow is down, people are making parallels to the Great Depression, and only one thing is missing: our friend, Dada.
Saturdada was born out of a desire to blend two of my favorite things: Saturdays and Dadaism. To me, Dada is more of a feeling than something I can put down on paper, so for this introduction's sake, I asked ChatGPT what Dada is:
Dada (or Dadaism) was an artistic and literary movement that started around 1916 in Zurich, Switzerland, as a reaction to the horrors of World War I. It was anti-war, anti-bourgeois, and anti-establishment, aiming to challenge traditional values in art, society, and culture.
Cheese is christ! What better time to revive such an art than now, when everyone is already feeling very anti-war, anti-bourgeois, and anti-establishment. But it would be naive to think that we could resurrect an art that was very much inspired by a point in time. That's not my goal. In fact, I'm not really sure what my goal is. Exciting, right?
